Biofeedback or electromyography (EMG) is a non-invasive technique used for measuring muscle electrical activity that occurs during muscle contraction and relaxation.

These games rely on technology that tracks body movements or reactions. Some advanced games allow users to set goals, grade and customize, receive instantaneous feedback, reinforce behaviors, and record and analyze results.

RespondWell enables physical therapists to create a personalized rehab program while using the Microsoft Kinect sensor to track patient performance. The Kinect sensor watches and evaluates technique as the patient performs the therapy, granting points for proper movement, while providing feedback to correct improper form.

Performance data is collected from Kinect and other devices and securely shared with the patient’s existing health record. The data produces patterns of patient behavior and helps the therapist make more effective decisions about the patient’s care. Patients access the system in the clinic or home, even without a Kinect sensor.
