Incedo consists mainly of a control unit, a weight sensor and a stimulation electrode. With reflex therapy, a stimulus is applied to the sole of the foot. This evokes the body’s own built-in withdrawal reflex and supports the patient in lifting and taking a step.
Reflex-based therapy is used as an augmentation of existing training methods that can be used with both weight-reduced treadmill training and when the patients are walking by the support of a therapist
We develop novel methods for walking rehabilitation of stroke patients in close collaboration with clinicians having the day-to-day contact. These methods are developed as a combination of our extensive expertise within biomedical engineering and our in-depth understanding of the challenges and existing practices of stroke rehabilitation.
